MacGregor 26M Sailboat

The MacGregor 26M will maneuver with only a 5 or 10hp engine, however, a minimum 20HP motor is needed to empty the ballast tank under power.

An electric start 50hp motor provides reasonable speed to get you to or from your destination. 

Up to a 70HP outboard can be installed but careful consideration must be given to transom weight, physical engine size and rigging. 

The MacGregor 26 is a reasonable powerboat and at top speed, it has a remarkably comfortable and stable ride.

The two storage hatches in the cockpit will hold 2 standard 12 gallon fuel tanks which are completely isolated from the interior of the boat for safety considerations.

Deciding what make, model and size of motor to install on your MacGregor takes into consideration many things.
