The MacGregor 26M provide for an increase in interior space, headroom and comfort, By raising the steering seat and moving it over the motor well, 15 inches were gained in the living space of the cabin. . A full 6ft. of headroom is available under the hatch and 5ft 10inches in the galley.

Seat cushions are 5 inches thick and upholstered with a top grade vinyl leather.  Hull sides are covered in a bright, easily cleaned and durable fabric which provides a warmer, dryer and quieter cabin. An extra row of windows provides more light and visibility and they are now flush mounted and thicker.

In 2005 the MacGregor 26M saw changes in the interior layout with a sliding galley on the port side and comfortable table seating.
